Each year, since 2011, The Maschhoffs recognize an employee who has displayed the company core values through key business decisions and leadership actions. The Core Values award is a prestigious honor that recognizes the outstanding commitment of a single individual. This year’s winner is Mickey Montalvo, Production Manager.

The company core values are how The Maschhoffs operate, collaborate, and identify. Our core values serve as an authentic reflection of the company culture. They define how employees collaborate with one another, care for the animals, engage with the community, and serve customers.

  1. Relationship: Our employees and partners are foundational to our family, business, and we are committed to their safety and success.
  • Stewardship: We believe in the preservation of the family farm and our natural resources, and care deeply about our animals and the environment.
  • Service: We strive to exceed customer expectations and positively impact our communities.
  • Progress: We will improve daily through our dedication to building and implementing knowledge while operating with a disciplined approach.

For over 12 years, Mickey has been a guiding force within our company, known for her fierce loyalty, empathetic leadership, and relentless drive to do things the right way. President & CEO Jay Miller praised her as a true example of what it means to lead with heart and purpose, saying, “When I think about what we hope to see from our leaders — the commitment to people, the positivity even on the tough days, and the fierce drive to do things the right way — I think of Mickey.”

Throughout her time at The Maschhoffs, Mickey has built a powerful legacy grounded in accountability, energy, and deep connection — to her team, her work, and her community. From mentoring teammates to leading critical training initiatives like Real Play, Mickey consistently goes above and beyond. As Caroline Hicks shared, “Her passion for people and helping them be the best version of themselves is so evident. She’s the whole package.”

Colleagues across the company echo these sentiments. Kurt Hartmann shared heartfelt gratitude, noting, “There is no way I would have kept my job without her help. She gives her time to everyone who needs her

— she’s an incredible teammate, and an even better human being.” Josh Linde added, “You balance compassion with accountability in a way that builds trust, grows people, and drives results.”

Mickey’s impact extends well beyond the workplace. A devoted mother, proud wrestling mom, and lover of life, she brings the same heart and energy to her personal life. Whether supporting her son Brandon, staying connected with family across Puerto Rico and Canada, or hosting friends and family in her beautifully restored home — a former church — she lives out the values we hold dear.

This award is a celebration of everything Mickey represents positivity, strength, dedication, and an unshakable belief in people. As Tyler, a fellow leader, said best: “She inspires us with her energy, her heart, and her unwavering drive.”

Congratulations, Mickey — and thank you for everything you do to make The Maschhoffs better, every single day.
